School and university chess clubs 3

Three listings sit inside a school or a university. Colégio Efanor, in Senhora da Hora, has a chess club on the federation list; the school has organised a school chess festival for Matosinhos in five age sections, an anniversary tournament and an internal Christmas event, and its players turn up at the Leça Chess Open. CLIP, an international school in Porto, is home to the Clip Chess Club, whose youth tournaments have a section for licensed players and groups for those without a licence.

The University of Porto’s sports centre enters students in the national university championship for rapid and semi-rapid chess, has organised a tournament called INTERFACS and sets its training dates season by season. None of the three says whether someone from outside may take part, so they are listed apart from the open places. Parents and students should ask the school or the sports centre; everyone else will find more in the clubs and tournaments of the other lists.
